LapDesk Challenge

Illovo Sugar is proud to take up the Lapdesk challenge and be the first KZN company to provide over 10 000 Lapdesks to under privileged schools in greater Durban area. Illovo has for years has been involved with less fortunate communities and the Lapdesk project is an extension of the previous year’s school signage project which was initiated by the marketing dept.

The Lapdesks are an innovative way to assist schools with a desk shortage. They provide a novel way to assist kids with a much needed writing surface without taking up additional classroom space. Each desk, being made from injection moulded plastic, only weighs about 500g and measures 60cm x 40cm. These desks are practically indestructible which will ensure the schools have the usage of the Lapdesks for a considerable period of time.
